Downtown Murals

Twenty-seven amazing murals, some as large as 300 feet long and 40 feet high, depict the history, culture, scenery and folklore that made Vernon what it is today. Group tours available.

Caetani Cultural Centre

The Caetani House was built in 1896, commissioned by Samuel Sommerville, a dance instructor who later became City Tax Collector and an alderman. The house was designed in the Late-Victorian Vernacular Revival style, which emphasized solidity and comfort over design.

Vernon Friday Night Farmers’ Market

Open from the first Friday in May through to the Friday of the Thanksgiving long weekend, the Vernon Friday Night Farmers' Market features a wide variety for vendors who feature local produce and homemade goods. The market takes place from;3 pm until 7 pm in the Sport Chek parking lot at the north end of Village Green Mall.

Opal Resources Canada Inc.

Canada's first "commercial grade" precious opal deposit, the Klinker Opal Deposit" was found near Vernon, BC on Thanksgiving Day in October 1991. The precious opal from this site was given the name "Okanagan Opal" by the prospectors who found the deposit.
